I Cheated Death..
💥5 years ago I came face-to-face with my mortality ..
.. and it’s taken almost as long for me to fully understand that.
To acknowledge that death had been so so close.
This is how it changed my life..

Time allows us to heal.
What we need to see is revealed at the right time
& with the best support. It's taken me years to process.

Each understanding brought grief & gratitude, courage, pain & peace.
I spent most of the time in my uber-optimistic bubble of denial...
Discovering evidence & the agony of acknowledging these things was not always easy...
• The severity of what happened.
• The realization of what could have happened.
• The losses I’ve suffered & overcome.
• The lessons I’ve learned.
• The many angels 😇 around me - on heaven & earth.

I look back over the past 5 years and see how my life path was forever altered.
I’ll never know what could’ve been.
I accept & trust that what is meant for me is right where I am.

Some lessons are extremely harsh.
But most leave us room to grow from them in the realization that we’re still here because we’re meant to live more.
----------------
I’ve been forced to accept that for some,
they have accomplished this in very few years
& then are gone.
The rest of us can honor them by doing our best with the time we’re blessed with.

So I feel deep gratitude today for where I am, who I'm sharing this earth with,
and I am excited to see what the future holds.
